Hello!

I am Silje Ask, the person behind the camera of Wyldwood Photography. I thought it was time to introduce myself properly :)

I am a mom of 3, 2 sweet little girls and 1 furry menace. They are my best test subjects whenever I have something I want to try out. Luckily for me they accept payment in the form of snacks ;)

I have spent entirely too many years not knowing what I wanted to do with my life. Just trying out different things, retail, warehouse work, office manager, kennel attendant, dancing, roller derby, even baking. But while it was all for the most part fun. (Looking at you office work...) none of it was something I wanted to make a life out of. But one things has been a constant through my whole life. Love of animals, and especially dogs <3

I started really working on building my photography skills after getting my pup Lyra. I wanted those beautiful pictures I saw everywhere, with her in them! Suddenly it all came together, my love of nature and pretty skies, my hoarding tendencies with costumes and décor items. And I realized this is it, this is what I want to do for the rest of my life!

So now I am that friend who always bring her camera, that hiking buddy who wants to stop every 5 minutes because they saw some pretty light, or a cool stump. That photographer always finding new ways to capture the beauty around us, and within us <3

Accredited

I recently became accredited through the professional photographers of Canada in both child study and dog portraits. My next goal is child portraits and birds. :D

Always learning

I am a strong believer in that we are never done learning, there is always more! I continue my education through online courses, in person workshops, and continuous practice to perfect my style.
